Man U Conquer UEFA

The Red Devils played Chelsea in the first ever all english UEFA final. Man United were looking to end their season with the UEFA Cup and they were facing their rivals Chelsea who had beaten them in their previous encounter.Everyone knew that it would be a nail biting finish for both these great english clubs at the end of a football cup tie there can be only one winner.Man U Kicked off at Moscow at 00:15 IST on the 22nd of May . United were hoping for Cristiano Ronaldo to continue in his amazing form which helped them retain the Premier League title. Their hopes didn't go in vain as Cristiano Ronaldo showed his talent in the 26th minute when a Brown's cross found him at the far post and he expertly headed the ball into the back of the net.It was the first goal that Ronaldo had scored against Chelsea. Tevez missed two golden opportunities of Ronaldo crosses and Hargreevs missed one chance which could have seen United 3-0 up at half time.As Chelsea looked to equalize the kept pressing the Man U defense and were rewarded before half time when Lampard scored in the 45th minute. Man U went 1-1 at half time.
In the second half Chelsea went the closest to scoring a goal when a stunning shot from Drogba rattled the post.At the end of 90 minutes nothing could separate both the teams and the match was going into extra time and possibly a penalty shoot out.Nobody posted a threat in extra time but there were many bookings as Tevez had a tiff with Terry and Ballack, Vidic had a brawl with Drogba and it ended with Drocba being red carded as he slapped Vidic ,Balack and Tevez Received Yellow's.The Ivory coast International went back for a piece of Vidic but they were stopped by Rio Ferdinan and the lines men.So Chelsea were down to 10 men. After Extra Time it was still one goal each.So the UEFA Cup 2008 was set to end on penalties.
Tevez was going to start the shoot out and he scored with ease,Van Der Sar guessed right but could not stop the ball and Ballack scored for Chelsea. Carvalho sent Van Der Sar the wrong side and scored Cristiano Ronaldo shot and it was a brilliant save from Cech. Lampard scored the next goal for Chelsea and Hargreevs scored for Man U Malouda shot the next and the keeper got a touch on it but it still went into the goal Evera kept Man U in the game by scoring.It was Terry the Chelsea Captain who stepped up to the spot and he slipped and failed to hit the target.Anderson took the next shot for Man U and scored the next Chelsea Player also scored and the famous Ryan Giggs the man who was a part of the Manchester United team who triumphed 9 years ago in the same competition sent Cech the wrong way and scored Anelka stepped up to the penalty spotand a spectacular save that saw all players and spectators in red jump in joy and celebrate an emphatic victory over Chelsea and triumph in the UEFA Cup. The perfect match for all Man United players and fans. Sir Alex Ferguson claimed his second UEFA Cup for Manchester United.

Man U retain Premier League title

Manchester United defeated Wigan Athletic 2-0 on Sunday may 11th to retain the premier league title.Wigan's Emmerson tripped Wayne Rooney in the box and the referee had no hesitation to point at the spot.The Portuguese winger sent the goalkeeper the wrong way and scored his 41st goal of the season and 31st in the league.Paul Scoles almost received a second yellow for a body check which would have reduced Man U to10 men.Shevchanko goal in the 62nd minuit gave Chelsea the lead but Bolton's late goal shattered Chelsea's hopes of winning the Premier League. With a superior goal difference over Chelsea the title was going back to Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson's 68th minuit substitution brought on Ryan Giggs who cemented United's victory with a goal.This was United's 10th Premier League title and 17th championship in all.Now they will hope to win the UEFA Cup on the 22nd of May.
